A by-election will be held in Naujaat to elect additional members to the community’s Alcohol Education Committee (AEC).
The candidate declaration period opens on Monday, October 16 at 1:00 p.m. CST and closes on Friday, October 20 at 2:00 p.m. CST. Candidates can declare their candidacy from 1:00-6:00 p.m. Monday to Thursday, and from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Friday by contacting their local returning officer.
The by-election will be held on November 20, with advanced voting taking place on November 13.
The Naujaat AEC requires a minimum of three (3) members for quorum to a maximum of seven (7) members on the committee. Two AEC members were already acclaimed in the October general municipal election.
